This past Sunday, a small group of members from my local photography club decided to head back out to Montgomery Woods for a do-over of sorts.  Some people weren’t happy with the photographs that they made and wanted to give it another shot.  I decided to tag along to see if I could offer any assistance along the way.

We met up at around 11:00 am in the parking lot of a nearby bowling ally and then car pooled the rest of the way out to the grove.  We spent a considerable amount of time hanging out near the entrance to the grove making pictures of the little streams.  I explained my process on how to create a long exposure, silky smooth, water type photo and then sent everyone off to create their own versions of what I explained.

After about an hour of playing in the streams we made the hike over the hill and entered the grove.  We spent the next few hours on the trail that loops the grove.  It was a long day but when you’re having fun doing something you love, time seems to fly by.

The photo club had its first Meetup of the year yesterday at Montgomery Woods…  My friend Ron and I hooked up for some early morning breakfast and then headed out to meetup with the group at a local coffee shop.  When we got to the grove, he and I pretty much headed off on our own to gab and make photos.  All in all, it was a great day in the woods.
