weight loss

Well, week two has passed and I am down another 5.2lbs which is exactly what I lost last week.  I’m two weeks in and I’ve lost 10.4lbs and I’m feeling pretty good.  I’ve started drinking protein shakes again and I’m still easing into the whole exercising and walking thing…  Hopefully I can increase this in the coming weeks.

I just made plans to start walking the dam, 3 times a week, with a friend of mine, that should help.  We’re thinking about creating a local support group for people like us who are just regular folk who are wanting to live a healthier lifestyle.  We’re not looking to run a marathon.

With today’s check in I’ve reached a pretty major goal and I’ll be making a separate post about that tonight or tomorrow after I’ve had time reflect and find the proper words to explain.

    Hi, Chris,
Teresa sent me your blog url a week or so back, and I forgot to comment. I found the Primal Stride challenge because of your blog, and have been enjoying that.

Congratulations on your successes of the past two weeks. It takes a good bit to put yourself out there.
  • Hi Shelda -- Thanks for stopping by. The Primal Stride challenges are fun, this weeks was too hard for me and I wasn't able to stay motivated to complete it. That doesn't mean I haven't been exercising though :) I just can't do the crunches.

re: putting myself out there. I just figured.. what's the worst that could happen? I couldn't think of anything earth shattering, so I jumped in with both feet. The response so far has been nice, as well as a great source of motivation for me to keep going.

Way to go Chris! This is awesome! Walking is a great way to get going.

What progress, you ask, have I made? I have begun to be a friend to myself.

  • I'm pretty sore after today's walk, I'm hoping it will get better.

Friending yourself is a start, right?

There is only one person you will be with from the beginning of your life to the end.. And that is yourself. You might as well be friends with yourself.

And for the soreness. Epsom salt will help get the toxins out of your body if it's just sore.. but use Ice if it swells.

Great job. Walking the dam 3 times a week is a very good idea. Running a marathon is an idea too :)
  • yeah, 3 times a week will be a good move. Running a marathon is not even on my radar. ain't gonna happen any time soon :)
